What You Will Be Doing:
- Autonomously own and manage multiple projects while providing regular status updates
- Lead and mentor peers to help with their growth and the effectiveness of the entire team
- Accept and provide “peer review” for teammates to ensure tasks are completed thoroughly
- Periodically perform software development tasks utilizing software development lifecycle
- Install and configure software, hardware, network elements and/or peripherals to meet end user and production floor requirements
- Provide datacenter hardware and software support
- Analyze manufacturing functions and make recommendations on process improvements
- Maintain detailed knowledge of select site systems and business processes
- Develop and maintain operational documentation (as it relates to technology)
- Provide technical support services, including regular rotations as the On-Call Rep
- Coordinate tasks with other members of the IT team and the enterprise
- Monitor productions systems to ensure maximum up-time and performance by utilizing monitoring software and regular datacenter walkthroughs
- Coordinate support from hardware and software vendors
- Manage system resources to prevent workflow impact from equipment outages
- Provide technical support 24-7 after hours support to include serving as primary initial contact for all urgent technical support calls
- Linux CentOS Desktop/Server administration
- Backup Windows Desktop/Server administration
- Some knowledge of network administration
- Ability to script using one or more of the following programming languages: Perl, PHP, Ruby, Python, Go
- Ability to apply systems analysis techniques to map systems processes
What You Need To Have:
- Bachelor’s degree OR directly related year for year experience
- Five (5) years of Linux systems engineering experience
- Two (2) years of experience with scripting languages
Preferred Qualifications and Experiences:
- Experience with implementing and utilizing Automation tools (Chef, Puppet, Kick Start, etc.)
- Experience with SDLC automation and deployment tools (Bamboo, Jenkins, etc.)
- Experience with scripting/coding (Perl, Bash, Ruby, Python, etc.) for automation and integration
- Knowledge of SAN (iSCSI, NFS, FC)
- Linux patch management experience (Satellite, Yum, apt-get, etc)
- Working with and supporting file sharing using any of the following: Samba, NFS, GFS, GFS2
- Using and supporting application Servers (JBoss, Apache, Tomcat, etc.)
- Experience directly supporting a medium to large size company with 300 or more servers
- Systems monitoring and metrics gathering
