Elevation is actively seeking a driven Litigation Legal Assistant with a passion for enhancing attorney effectiveness for one of the top Personal Injury law firms in the nation! The Litigation Legal Assistant will be based in the Nashville office and will work within the Litigation Department to develop case information, evidence, and settlement options. The Litigation Legal Assistant will also track cases as well as support the attorneys’ trial proceedings.

Essential Functions

  • Assistant will have extensive client contact including walk-ins
  • Prepares and meets with clients regarding settlement documents
  • Files complaints, drafts pleadings and schedules depositions and mediations
  • Prepares and reviews written correspondence, including litigation documents
  • Analyzes medical records/bills and insurance information as well as writes summaries
  • Serves as a liaison between clients, attorneys, and insurance companies
  • Ensures the accuracy and thoroughness of records and data
  • Balances multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
  • Provides general support to attorneys and ensures the efficient progression of each case
  • Follows practices and processes that comply with appropriate laws and regulations
  • Demonstrates a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Performs other duties within their training/skills as directed by Team Lead/Litigation Attorney

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Highly organized with excellent follow up skills
  • Ability to professionally multitask and meet multiple deadlines simultaneously
  • Displays respect and acts as a trustworthy source for clients, vendors, and coworkers
  • Reliable and dependable in performing job-related tasks, finishing assigned projects, meeting deadlines & appointments
  • Displays strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Preferred experience with Needles and/or Litify platforms

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 2-5 years of legal office experience
  • 1-2 years of experience managing Litigation case files
  • 2+ years of experience in Personal Injury law preferred

Physical Demands, Work Environment and Other Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times (i.e. lifting reams of paper)
