What You Will Be Doing:

The Director of Technology and Project Management with a Cybersecurity focus will help expand the Technology & Innovation Center of Excellence Program to support our client’s growing number of portfolio organizations. You will help develop a Project Management Office to ensure quality and consistency in execution at scale, respond to the increasing pressure on healthcare organizations to develop more mature information security programs, and manage a wide variety of cybersecurity risks.

  • Consulting on and/or leading execution of information security projects (cybersecurity risk assessment, technical testing, remediation planning, and development of information security program roadmaps) and interfacing with portfolio organizations’ internal team members and third-party vendors to exceed expectations on time, budget, and quality.
  • Developing metrics for cybersecurity risk and information security program maturity across all portfolio companies.
  • Participating in data collection to facilitate metric reporting.
  • Establishing portfolio-wide benchmarks and portfolio-specific targets for information security program maturity.
  • Monitoring healthcare and cybersecurity trade publications to build a knowledge base around best practices in cybersecurity and tailoring those practices to the size and risk factors of portfolio companies.
  • Following news reports from reputable sources (such as the FBI/CISA) to learn about and respond to evolving cybersecurity threats and imminent warnings of specific cybersecurity risks. Disseminating actionable summaries of this knowledge to portfolio companies and partnering with those that request assistance interpreting/responding to new risks.
  • Assisting with mergers and acquisition (M&A) projects by advising and/or leading assessments of cybersecurity risk and integrating the plan for information security programs.
  • Leading development and application of tools and frameworks adopted by or in support of our portfolio organizations. Including: organizational health assessment, diligence reporting & data room exploration tools, project management best practices, M&A playbooks, and more.
  • Consulting with our client’s investment teams and Center of Excellence members on a variety of ad-hoc projects in support of the firm’s and portfolio organizations’ key objectives.

What You Need To Have:

  • Minimum of 10+ years of successful experience building/leading large teams, serving as a technical program or project manager, and driving large-scale technology implementations for enterprise business applications, data and/or BI solutions, M&A integrations or divestitures, or equivalent in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience implementing a cybersecurity framework (relevant frameworks include NIST CSF, HITSRUST CSF, ISO 27001, NIST SP 800-53)
  • Experience performing a HIPAA risk assessment as specified by the HIPAA Security Rule
  • Expert-level ability in serving as an advisor, influencer, and change agent to drive results by engaging a broad customer base with varying organizational cultures and objectives
  • Stellar organizational, time management and prioritization skills and capabilities
  • Attention to detail, sharp, energetic, and creative, with the ability to think-on-your-feet
  • Ability to work with speed and accuracy while juggling multiple competing priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently or as a team to problem solve and anticipate needs appropriately
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with sensitivity to audience
  • Outgoing, dependable, and willing to help. No task is too small or too large
  • Bachelors’ degree in a scientific, engineering, project management, or equivalent experience is required
  • Masters’ degree in business administration, management, finance, or equivalent experience is strongly preferred
  • Cybersecurity Certification (such as CISSP or CCSP) is strongly preferred
