Director, Fellows & Content Strategy - Nashville

Elevation Search Solutions is actively seeking a seasoned and hands on program leader for a national non-profit focused in the healthcare space. This person will manage the organization’s content strategy and Fellows initiative, working collaboratively with nationally respected decision-makers, academic institutions, and non-profit groups.

What You Will Be Doing:

FELLOWS:

Leadership:

  • Playing a key role in strategy development and providing recommendations to organization leadership and Advisory Committee. 
  • Managing the Fellows initiative in alignment with strategic goals of the program.
  • Assuring that the leadership team is kept fully informed on the conditions and operations of the Fellows initiative and important factors influencing it. 
  • Directing and planning for new Fellows programs, projects, initiatives and activities. Making recommendations to the leadership team related to opportunities and responses to market influencers.
  • Carrying out other general responsibilities as may be delegated by the leadership team.
  • Researching trends and influencers in the health care community in order to take advantage of market opportunities.

Activities:

  • Executing, with guidance from co-chairs, the course curriculum, including management of program speakers, immersion and class logistics.
  • Effectively communicating with staff to define tasks and deadlines related to Fellows’ activities, including communications, event logistics and administrative support.
  • Managing Fellows’ class portal content in preparation for sessions.
  • Developing strategic goals for Fellows alumni and overseeing activities in support of goals.
    • Assuring successful Fellows events and programs.
    • Identifying when results may fall short of goals and recommend corrective action.
  • Selecting and managing appropriate vendor relationships including communications, academic program and technical support.
  • Project managing freelance writers for Fellows book

Class Selection:

  • Managing activities of Fellows Advisory Committee, including class selection process.
  • Executing Fellows’ recruitment and nomination process with a focus on securing a class of diverse senior-level participants.
  • Developing programs and relationships that enhance and drive class recruitment and growth.
  • Connecting and partnering with other health care associations to share best practices and drive continuous improvement.

Community Relationship Building:

  • Serving as key contact for Fellows applicants, class participants, speakers and alumni.
  • Reaching out to and evaluating relationships potentially beneficial to the Fellows initiative.
  • Serving as key and strategic liaison to affiliate organizations or key partnerships.
  • Maintaining and building positive relationships with other associations, industry, government, public service organizations and vendors as are desirable or necessary for the best interest of the Fellows initiative and industry at large.
  • Establishing and developing relationships throughout the health care provider community to gain an in-depth understanding of the needs of all stakeholders.

Financial:

  • Defining and executing underwriter recruitment campaign with ongoing management of underwriter relationships.
  • Developing and managing Fellows’ budget in alignment with defined goals and activities.
  • Implementing internal controls to assure compliance with established policies, legal and regulatory requirements in consultation with professional counsel as needed. 
  • Managing organizational programs and finances to ensure adequate resources to fund programs and needs established by the leadership team.
  • Overseeing cash flow and project future needs. 

Communications:

  • Serving as a key contact and industry expert for the Fellows initiative, particularly related to media and public inquiries. Directing inquiries to the leadership team as appropriate.
  • Providing strategic guidance and approval of Fellows’ communications activities, including website and collateral materials.
  • Overseeing marketing and branding campaigns for Fellows.

CONTENT STRATEGY:

Activities:

  • Working with staff in program planning, addressing subject content and speaker selection.
  • Maintaining system for tracking program topic ideas, speaker relationships and content calendar.
  • Applying research to inform program ideas.
  • Engaging staff and stakeholders on a regular basis to obtain speaker and topic ideas.
  • Assessing program offerings and developing strategy for new offerings.

What You Need To Have:

MANDATORY

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required. Post-graduate education/degree preferred.

Experience

  • Experience in positions that require strong political and business acumen, with the strategic ability to collaboratively and productively leverage / influence relationships and opportunities to achieve goals.
  • Understanding of the health care industry, players, trends and issues.
  • Recognized as a leader, team player and influencer of others – with enthusiasm, self-motivation, an entrepreneurial spirit and a positive attitude.
    1. Drives operational performance in support of business objectives.
    2. Managing cross-functional teams to bring people together, create alignment / commonality of purpose and focus.
  • Proven success in:
    1. Facilitating and leading discussions with senior executives one-on-one and in a group setting
    2. Project management experience with successful past implementations of complex project

Skill Set

  • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills that build trust, instill confidence and ensure personal effectiveness / influence with all constituents (e.g. Advisory Committee, Fellows, health care agencies and associations, government officials, media and employees).
  • Prior experience implementing successful growth initiatives.
  • Ability to objectively view situations and independently arrive at sound conclusions.

Financial

  • Strong financial skills and experience in managing complex budgets.

PREFERRED

  • 10+ years of experience in a health care company, academic/medical institution or health care association / member-driven organization.
  • Solid understanding of the health care industry, key leaders, trends, and issues.
  • Prior experience editing and project managing writers.
