What You Will Be Doing:
- Developing, analyzing, and interpreting accounting information to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the company.
- Managing all accounting functions including but not limited to: cash, accounts receivable, inventory, prepaid assets, fixed assets, accounts payable and accruals, printing checks.
- Maintaining ownership of the site general ledger and trial balance.
- Developing short, medium, and long-term financial strategies and projections providing insight into the organization’s operations and business plans.
- Preparing the annual budget and monitoring for variance throughout the fiscal year.
- Managing cash flow and ensuring availability of funds.
- Establishing and maintaining proper internal financial controls.
- Developing and maintaining weekly and monthly reporting metrics (e.g. profit and loss statements, balance sheet, cash flow).
- Overseeing the treasury function and banking relationships.
- Ensuring company compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements.
- Ensuring company licensing renewals with local, state, and federal requirements.
- Supporting growth and positive reputation of company.
- Managing inventory valuation system to ensure proper and accurate information is always available.
- Managing the Subcontractor Certificate of Insurance compliance
- Managing and developing a high-performing office team (5 members).
- Overseeing and performing general office management functions all while maintaining the highest level of customer service and professionalism.
- Special projects or other duties as assigned.
What You Need To Have:
- 5+ years of Controller experience preferred
- Experience/knowledge in the construction industry
- Proficiency in Foundation accounting software
- Proven experience with financial projections and budgeting
- Working knowledge of tax and business regulations
- A demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and coach a team
- Ability to think ahead and plan over a 1-2 year time span
- Adept in problem analysis and resolution
- Technical skills in strategic and financial planning
- Detail oriented with exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality
- Ability to collect and analyze data, set priorities, organize initiatives, and follow through
- Based in Nashville, TN region and the ability to come into the office 5 days/week
