SVP of Product - SC

Are you a seasoned product executive with excellent leadership and communication skills looking to contribute solutions in the Healthcare-IT space?

Elevation’s client has an opening for an SVP of Product to help scale and grow the product suite.  Our client is an early stage Healthcare-IT company focused on solving complex healthcare problems through the power of communication between patient and provider.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Own the commercial success of the client’s Product Suite.
  • Lead product management teams to envision, define and develop current and new products lines.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop a multi-year vision, strategy, and timeline for the product, product verticals, and the overall platform.
  • Responsible for managing product development and technology budget.
  • Establish best-in-class product management discipline including:
    • Defining process and metrics for success
    • Metric driven approach to roadmap prioritization
    • Disciplined approach and standards for the roadmap and direction of organization
    • Accountability standards and ensure adherence for product development process
    • Process for business case analysis and presentation
    • Ongoing competitive market analysis and positioning
    • End-to-end product release cycle and customer communication process
  • Build, enhance, lead and mentor an outstanding team of product managers, software engineers, and QA engineers.
  • Champion the importance of innovation and creativity to ensure future commercial success and competitive separation.
  • Serve as SME in commercial settings as needed.
  • Establish deep relationships with internal stakeholders, customers and the market to predict market opportunity, drive responsiveness and innovation.
  • Build clear lines of communication between product, engineering, and commercial teams to understand customer needs, identify value of existing and new features and enhance commercial team buy in of roadmap deliverables.
  • Work with finance, operations, marketing and sales to construct a robust release process that manages new capabilities into the market, including pricing, commercial terms, marketing communications, sales training and delivery schedules.
  • Drive vendor selection process, maintain the vendor relationships, and drive the appropriate mix of build in house and outsource partnering.
  • Present product capabilities, vision, value propositions, and roadmap briefings to customers, prospects, the sales team and at other public events.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Business Development to create alignment and to achieve the businesses goals and objectives.
  • Drive an organization of efficiency, accountability and ownership.
  • Establish vision & champion internal/external best practices, tools, and ideas to improve product analysis, design, execution and quality.
  • Mentor, coach and support team members to reach their aspirations and find professional satisfaction.
  • Create a culture of customer focus and high performance to drive innovation.

What You Will Need To Have:

  • Senior leadership experience with 10 to 15 years of experience in product management and technology.
  • 7-10 years of experience in the Healthcare space.
  • Demonstrate technical leadership, solid communication and analytical skills with thorough understanding of product development and successful problem definition, decomposition, estimation and resolution.
  • Experience leading product creation and development efforts in an early stage company and have had success leading small, nimble teams.
  • Strong persuasion skills required with the ability to frame strategies at multiple altitudes, depending on your audience.
  • Dynamic leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams.
  • Demonstrable success with bringing innovative new capabilities to market on time and on budget that result in commercial success and strong investment ROI.
  • Must have track record of creating enterprise software with strong user experience orientation to drive product engagement.
  • Excellent communication skills both internally to stakeholders and externally to customers and the market. Track record of thought leadership and the ability to speak at sales events, fund raising activities, trade shows, conferences etc.
  • Experience in leading an early stage company to a timely exit is a plus!
